ABOUT BARE SPACE
200 square feet with 13-foot ceilings and huge windows on an angle. In the morning, direct sunlight enters clean from the eastern horizon, casting defined shadows. After noon, the light softens and steadily glows without interruption until dusk.
Ideal for portraits, model development, still life, and film. Best suited for working at ISO 800 and above. Fabric backdrops and studio equipment are available, and lighting can be rented.
BARE SPACE is private, minimal, and quiet - save for the ambient noise from bridge traffic and the subway. A good sound system, a full-length Hollywood mirror and a clothing rack are built in. The studio is located in a secure, professional building with easy access to the A, C, and F trains.

CANCELLATIONS AND OVERTIME
Booking is done through the online form. Full payment is due at checkout to confirm your reservation. Cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance will be refunded. Cancellations made 24–48 hours in advance may be rescheduled but are not refundable. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice are non-refundable and must be paid in full. Extra time beyond your scheduled booking will be charged at $20 per 15 minutes. No exceptions.
Arrival & Access
Renters will be given access to the building and a one-time use code to enter the studio. If you wish to rent equipment, a per-booking fee applies and a separate access code will be provided to unlock it. It is the renters responsibility to arrive and depart on time of the booking.
usage guidelines
The studio allows a maximum of 10 people per booking. Nudity is permitted. Smoking is strictly forbidden — a $250 fee will be charged if smoking occurs in the studio. Renters must keep noise levels reasonable out of respect for neighbors. Outside equipment is allowed. Anything in the studio that is not locked is available for use.
Clean-Up & Exit
Renters are expected to leave the space as they found it. Please dispose of all trash, return any moved items, and ensure lights and equipment are off and properly stored before leaving. Additional cleaning or reset fees may apply if the space is left in poor condition.
Liability & Damages
Renters are fully responsible for any damage to the studio or its contents during their booking. This includes damage caused by guests or outside crew. BARE SPACE is not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property brought into the space.
Privacy Policy
A small motion-activated security camera is installed above the door for safety. Footage is only reviewed in the case of disputes. Any attempt to move, block, or damage the camera is not tolerated and will result in a fee.
